Psychiatric medications found in home of Germanwings pilot Andreas Lubitz, who underwent 18 months of psychiatric 'treatment'

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) Just as Natural News publicly predicted in a widely-circulated article entitled Germanwings jetliner catastrophe: The first antidepressant drug-induced mass murder of the skies?, psychiatric drugs have now been located and identified by law enforcement authorities searching the home of the murder-suicide co-pilot.

As the Straits Times now reports:

Investigators made the discovery in a search of the home of Andreas Lubitz in the western city of Duesseldorf and seized a number "of medicines for the treatment of psychological illness", Welt am Sonntag weekly said.

"The 27-year-old has been treated by several neurologists and psychiatrists," it quoted an unidentified high-ranking investigator as saying, in excerpts released ahead of Sunday's edition...

The same story goes on to report:

On Friday they said searches of his homes netted "medical documents that suggest an existing illness and appropriate medical treatment"...

In today's global system of pharma-dominated health care, so-called "appropriate medical treatments" for depression consist almost entirely of mind-altering medications which have been repeatedly linked to mass school shootings.

"The police found antidepressants during a search of his apartment here on Thursday," reports The New York Times, further confirming that the SSRI drug link to Lubitz.

A Reuters story also explains, "German newspaper Welt am Sonntag quoted a senior investigator as saying the 27-year-old "was treated by several neurologists and psychiatrists", adding that a number of medications had been found in his Duesseldorf apartment."

18 months of psychiatric "treatment" on medications, but still allowed to fly

According to the Daily Mail, Lubitz "...reportedly received a year and half of psychiatric treatment and was at one point recommended to be examined by a doctor before flying."

As I noted in a previous Natural News article, SSRI drugs are considered so dangerous by the FAA that U.S. pilots are not allowed to fly commercial or private airplanes if they are currently taking antidepressant medications. (The FAA knows SSRI drugs can make pilots suicidal.)

It now appears Andreas Lubitz was attempting to hide his psychiatric treatment and medications from authorities, and he may have stopped taking SSRI drugs in order to pass a urine test or blood test.

"[T]he other possible explanations for Lubitz's actions are that he may have stopped taking his medication so it would not be detected in any medical tests..." reports the Daily Mail. Other behavior demonstrates by Lubitz is also consistent with this idea, such as his tearing up of doctors' notes to avoid submitting them to his employer.

"Regularly collected a prescription from the pharmacy"

Also from the Daily Mail:

He reportedly received a year and half of psychiatric treatment and was at one point recommended to be examined by a doctor before flying. But, incredibly, he passed his psychological assessments and was later considered fit to fly.

German police are now investigating whether Lubitz had stopped taking any medication he was on and have questioned chemists at the Apotheke am Breidenplatz close to Lubitz's Dusseldorf flat.

Lubitz regularly collected a prescription from the pharmacy, MailOnline understands. A chemist at the Apotheke confirmed she had spoken to the police but declined to offer any details.

As with all such stories, there will be enormous pressure exerted on the mainstream media by the pharmaceutical industry to downplay any link between SSRI drugs and this mass murder tragedy. But given the repeated pattern of mass murder carried out by people who are either currently taking SSRI drugs or have recently quit taking them, we must ask the obvious question: Can psychiatric meds transform a normal person into a mass murderer?

Until society honestly asks this question, many more people might unnecessarily die from acts of violence which are induced by psychiatric medications.

7 shot and injured at Florida spring break house party

Mar 28, 4:08 PM (ET)

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Seven people were injured, some critically, during an early-morning spray of gunfire Saturday at a spring break party on the Florida Panhandle, police said. An Alabama man was quickly apprehended and charged with attempted murder.
Multiple 911 calls flooded in just before 1 a.m., reporting the shootings at the house party in Panama City Beach, and deputies arriving on the scene found a sprawling crime scene with victims inside the home, outside and across the street from it, and in the street's median, the Bay County Sheriff's Office said.
Officers set up a perimeter and found a suspect matching witnesses' description. David Jamichael Daniels, 22, of Mobile, Alabama, was charged with seven counts of attempted murder and jailed awaiting a first court appearance. A .40-caliber handgun believed to have been used was found in the yard of a nearby home.
The sheriff's office said several of the victims were students from Alabama A&M University in Panama City Beach for spring break.
At least three were critically injured: Kearria Freed, 20, who was shot in the head; Devanta Moore, 21, who was shot in the chest; and Henton Franklin, 22, who was shot in the side. Three others were listed in stable condition: Jacole Young, 22, who police said was shot in the back three times; Kelli Curry, 21, who was shot in the leg; and Tykeria Ethridge, 22, who was shot in the neck and shoulder.
A seventh victim — Anesia Powell, 20 — was shot in the left arm, chest, and knee, and was undergoing surgery Saturday. No condition was given.

6 Toxins that Destroy Your Thyroid

6 Toxins that Destroy Your Thyroid

Learn the toxins that can destroy your thyroid so you can prepare yourself
6 Toxins that Destroy Your Thyroid
by Dr. Edward Group | Infowars.com | March 26, 2015

Some people believe that the thyroid is the “heart” of the endocrine system. As one of the largest endocrine glands, it plays an important role in maintaining energy levels and secreting hormones—among other things. When the thyroid’s working properly, it’s business as usual. Unfortunately, nasty chemicals can play a huge role in problems.
The Dangers of Thyroid Toxins
Toxins are present in our environment, and there’s very little we can do to eliminate all of them. We can, however, limit our exposure to toxic compounds, reducing the likelihood of experiencing issues with our thyroid. Supplementing with iodine is also an important step toward protecting your thyroid from toxic compounds. Learn these 6 toxins that can destroy your thyroid so you can prepare yourself.
1. BPA
As an endocrine disruptor, BPA can affect hormone levels and throw thyroid function out of whack. While there are many studies documenting BPA’s effects on the thyroid in adults and children, a recent one took a different approach. [1] By looking at newborns and their mothers, the study suggested higher levels of BPA cause a decrease in thyroid function in women. All of the baby boys, though, had an increase in thyroid function from the higher levels of BPA. [2] The theory here is that the women—while pregnant—saw a drop in thyroid function and the sons’ thyroids overcompensated. While the trend did not carry over to newborn girls, avoiding BPA while pregnant just makes sense.
 2. Bromine
Bromine is toxic to the thyroid, but with it in everything from pool cleaner to pasta, finding something without the endocrine disruptor can be tricky. [3] Often, even healthy patients can have high levels of the flame-retardant substance in their bodies. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are even finding their way into the breast milk of American women. [4] One common source of bromine is brominated vegetable oil—which is still found in many drinks—so remember, it pays to read those labels!

3. Perchlorate
Studies suggest low thyroid function in mothers is linked to neurodevelopmental problems in children. While BPA—as mentioned in number 1—or any score of nasty toxins could be the cause of an unhealthy thyroid, perchlorate is definitely one of the usual suspects. [5] [6] But while there are numerous studies linking it with thyroid problems, the FDA still approved it for use as an anti-static agent in food packaging, making avoiding it a lot more difficult. [7]
4. Pesticides
When it comes to maintaining a healthy thyroid, avoiding pesticides could also be key. In India, thyroid disorders are on the rise, but there are measures in place to make sure much of the population has sufficient access to iodine, something essential for thyroid function. One recent study suggested this spike is due to pesticide and other chemical exposure, with experts noting almost 60 percent of cases aren’t connected to iodine-deficiency. [8] While the idea of pesticide exposure and thyroid problems is nothing new, maintaining iodine levels and avoiding pesticides could be the perfect combination. [9]
5. PFCs
There’s a report that a higher level of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in the blood could affect thyroid function in women. [10] Used in the manufacturing of lots of common things, PFCs can even be found in pizza boxes and takeout containers; your mattress might even contain them! Even though the use of the chemicals is being phased out in the U.S., imported products could still be a concern. [11] Endocrine disruptors like PFCs take a long time to break down in the body, so this study is disturbing, to say the least.
6. Fluoride
Almost 70 percent of the U.S. water supply is fluoridated to help prevent cavities. Many people don’t know, however, that fluoride was actually prescribed as a remedy for an overactive thyroid during the first half of the 20th century. According to some reports, 2 to 5 mg of fluoride per day over a period of months was all it took to lower thyroid function; this becomes a problem when you realize that’s about the same amount people drinking fluoridated water are exposed to daily. [12]
Some Other Tips to Think About
You want to make sure your thyroid is as healthy as possible, so make sure you’re aware of just what can be dangerous. To protect your health, be sure to eat foods that support thyroid health as much as you can. While your family history can also play a role in endocrine problems, avoiding toxic exposure is a smart way to go. When it comes to protecting your thyroid, how do you avoid toxins? Tell us about it in the comments. -Dr. Edward F. Group III, DC, NP, DACBN, DCBCN, DABFM This article first appeared at GlobalHealingCenter.com.

Who almost nuked the USA?

1960s incident could have devastated American south
by Infowars.com | March 27, 2015

Since the Oppenheimer first opened Pandora’s Box, the threat of complete human annihilation has loomed over our collective species. This sword of Damocles swings over our head with the silent menace of of the promise of stark oblivion. How many times have we crept unknowingly to the brink and stared into the void? More times than you would imagine possible.
In January of 1961, a B-52 bomber from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base with live nuclear ordinance suffered a catastrophic failure and broke up in mid-air over Goldsboro, North Carolina. The B52 bomber was flying a routine patrol mission. During an air refueling procedure, the pilots noticed fuel streaming from one of the wings. They attempted to enact emergency procedures by engaging fuel pumps, but the aircraft systems wouldn’t respond. They declared an emergency and began a descent to land. The crew heard a loud bang from below and the plane shuddered and began to roll hard. The crew bailed out as the massive bomber shuddered and began to come apart in the sky. The plane lost a wing cracked in the middle of the fuselage and disintegrated.  At 12:35 a.m. Jan. 24, 1961, the B-52 crashed 12 miles north of the air base in a tobacco field.
456B52-night.jpg
Two Mark 39 hydrogen bombs with a payload of 4 megatons each plummeted to the ground. These bombs contained enough nuclear material to trigger an atomic explosion 250 times more powerful than the bombs dropped in Japan. One of the bombs initiated it’s arming sequence, engaged it’s trigger mechanism and fell to earth deploying it’s parachute precisely as designed. Only the failure of one low-voltage switch prevented the bomb from detonating.
1800x1197xBomb-Mark-39-at-NMUSAF.jpg.pagespeed.ic.U7dOiQqae7.jpg
The call went out, the Military had a “Broken Arrow” code for an accidental event that involves nuclear weapons, warheads or components, but which does not create the risk of nuclear war.
An elite military bomb squad led by 1st Lt. Jack ReVelle, was scrambled to the site near Nahunta Swamp off Big Daddy’s Road, there among the wreckage they found the bomb precariously hanging from a denuded tree by its parachute. This bomb had mercifully been deactivated by a manual safety lever and was ready to be carted away almost unscathed. After the team checked for radioactive contamination, they deactivated the weapon, and the bomb was carefully removed.
Goldsboro-Bomb.jpg
The second bomb was buried deep in the soft mud of the swamp. The ordinance recovery crew toiled for days in the freezing cold to slowly and carefully uncover the sections of the buried bomb. They managed to recover the majority of the bomb, but the secondary mechanism is still down there undergoing radioactive decay.
As of September 2013, the US Department of Defense has officially recognized 32 “Broken Arrow” incidents. There are [many instances of KNOWN nuclear accidents.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_nuclear_accidents)
Each of these threaten our very existence, whether we are in the blast zone or the accident could be misconstrued as an attack and unleash the power of mutually assured destruction. The powers that be warn of the dire consequences of some terrorist organization acquiring a nuclear weapon or some supposed rogue state deploying one in anger. It’s clear that the most dangerous circumstances are the dangers inherent in simply possessing such weapons. Although the cold war thawed with glastnos, the ominous threat of total global annihilation remains real. As long as fissile weapons are in the inventories of man, we are but a moment away from oblivion whether they are used in anger or by accident.

Mainstream media falls for California wine arsenic HOAX story: wine industry victimized by scientifically illiterate reporting

Mainstream media falls for California wine arsenic HOAX story: wine industry victimized by scientifically illiterate reporting

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) Four residents in California are reportedly suing wine makers for selling products that contain what the lawsuit claims is a "dangerous" level of arsenic. The lawsuit lists 28 California wineries as defendants, including companies like Franzia, Mogen David and Almaden.

"According to the lawsuit," reports the New York Daily News, "tests by three independent laboratories found that in some cases arsenic levels were 500% higher than what's considered safe."

The scientifically illiterate mainstream media jumped on the news, widely repeating the scare story even though it has no basis in actual scientific fact, as I explain in detail below. Here are just some of the scary-sounding headlines and statements found across the media, where journalists have absolutely no clue about the relative toxicity vs. safety of elements such as arsenic or mercury:

CBS News: "Very high levels of arsenic" in top-selling wines
- A totally false statement! There aren't very high levels of arsenic in these wines. CBS is quoting the guy who runs the lab that stands to profit from the fearmongering.

San Francisco Gate: "Of those wines, 83 showed presumably toxic levels of arsenic, above the 10 parts per billion that’s considered safe for drinking water."
- Utter nonsense. "Presumably toxic?" The levels tested were extremely low and nowhere near "toxic."

NY Daily News: "Dangerous arsenic levels found in California wine from 28 producers, suit claims"
- You can file a lawsuit that claims anything. The NY Daily News should have known enough to realize the claims were bogus.

USA Today: "A class action lawsuit claims dozens of California wineries produced wine with dangerously high levels of arsenic..."
- Once again, USA Today seems to be unable to tell truth from fiction. It is repeating an outright fiction claimed in the lawsuit which seeks damages from wine makers. If I filed a lawsuit claiming Pepsi contained high levels of Adamantium (the stuff Wolverine's claws are made from, didn't ya know?), would USA Today also print that story and give it credence?

The California wine arsenic story is all a junk science HOAX!

While the media headlines shown above may sound convincing, the truth is that the accusations are part of an outlandish hoax. The lawsuit's claims are blatantly false, and the California wine industry is being unfairly victimized by what I see as a highly irresponsible attempt to extort money from wine makers through a junk science lawsuit that suffers from fatal errors I will explain here.

The group that put out the original press release, it seems, is trying to drum up lab testing business from other wine and beer manufacturers. The mainstream media played right into the hoax, providing them with enormous free publicity even as they conducted what I have to call really BAD science.

As you read this, keep in mind that I'm well known for sounding the alarm over lead in organic brown rice proteins, cadmium in cacao powder and mercury in flu shots. I'm acutely aware of the toxicity of certain elements in food and beverages, yet even I look at this arsenic in wine story and shake my head in bewilderment at how the mainstream media has run with this without having any real understanding of the scientific principles which would easily reject the claim that California wines are dangerous due to high arsenic levels.

In truth, the arsenic levels are extremely LOW. Far lower than you'll find in many other foods such as seaweeds (see below), and nowhere near the level that would justify the irrational alarm being demonstrated by the mainstream media. This is all very important to understand so that consumers, court judges and the news media don't continue to get hoodwinked by unsubstantiated claims of heavy metals contamination. We must learn to tell the difference between real, legitimate warnings vs. false warnings over food and beverage safety.

First, here's why I know more than most about heavy metals in food and beverages

My qualifications: As Natural News readers know, I'm the science lab director of the Natural News Forensic Food Lab, where we run an Agilent 7700x ICP-MS instrument capable of detecting heavy metals down to parts per billion concentrations. I was the first researcher in the world to document the heavy metals capturing potential of common foods, and the first to document the heavy metal tungsten in rice protein products. I am the developer and patent holder of Cesium Eliminator, a dietary supplement that binds with radioactive isotopes, and Heavy Metals Defense, a dietary supplement that binds with toxic heavy metals during digestion. I am also the creator of the Low Heavy Metals Verified standard that we use to validate the cleanliness of all the products sold at the Natural News Store. The Natural News Forensic Food Lab operates under ISO 17025 quality rules, with international accreditation pending.

I conducted all the research on water filtration of toxic elements, published on www.WaterFilterLabs.com - and I also recently conducted heavy metals analysis of cigarettes. You can see the results in this Natural News article. I'm the inventor of the Food Rising 3D printable food production system, and my next invention to be released is a device that removes arsenic from contaminated well water. (You'll be able to print this device on any 3D printer.) In summary, I know a thing or two about arsenic and other toxic elements. I know how to detect them, how to bind them and how to remove them. I'm extremely comfortable in an ICP-MS laboratory, spanning all phases of sample collection, preparation, digestion, normalization, analysis and calibration.

My laboratory is in the process of achieving ISO 17025 accreditation, and we are already operating under ISO 17025 procedures and quality protocols. (The accreditation process can take up to two years.)

Why the lawsuit is based on bogus science

Now, getting to the substance of the lawsuit, it claims that independent laboratories found 500% more arsenic in California wine than is allowed by the EPA in drinking water.

The EPA sets a maximum level of 10 ppb of arsenic in drinking water. But as the Wine Institute of California correctly points out, "there is no scientific basis for applying the EPA drinking water standard to wine."

Indeed, that's true. People don't drink wine in the same quantities they consume water. And if they did, they would likely die from alcohol-induced liver disease long before arsenic became a problem.

The lawsuit claims some labs found 500% higher levels in some wines. That's 50 ppb. "PPB" means parts per billion, or 1/1000th of a part per million. So the real question here is this: Is 50 ppb of arsenic in wine "dangerous" like the lawsuit says?

The science hoax revealed

To answer this question, let me share with you a few of my own findings. Using my private ICP-MS laboratory, I've documented 50,000 ppb of mercury in flu shots (which is typically 0.5mL in volume, delivering approximately 25 micrograms of mercury into body tissues per dose).

Predictably, the mainstream media took no interest whatsoever in that finding, as flu shots are the "sacred cows" of modern medicine, and they are automatically declared safe regardless of what toxic heavy metals they contain. It makes you wonder why the media would sound an hysterical, irrational alarm over 50 ppb of arsenic in wine but remain totally silent about 50,000 ppb of mercury in flu shots which are INJECTED into the body (which is far more toxic than merely swallowing something). It turns out that if you're concerned about arsenic in wine, you should be at least 100 times more concerned about mercury in flu shots.

Similarly, I appeared on the Dr. Oz show last year to share findings about 5,000 ppb of lead found in Ginkgo Biloba herbs, and over 5,000 ppb of cadmium in cacao. I've documented over 10,000 ppb of lead in mangosteen superfruit powder, and I've found that Whole Foods routinely sells organic brown rice protein powder containing anywhere from 1,000 ppb to nearly 2,500 ppb of toxic lead. Whole Foods was even caught misleading customers about these heavy metals in products they sell.

Lead, mercury and cadmium are significantly more toxic than arsenic, gram per gram. Out of the four, in other words, arsenic is the least toxic to humans, especially in its organic form which is more commonly represented in foods than the inorganic form.

California wine rates A+++ for very low arsenic levels

To help protect consumers from toxic heavy metals in food and beverages, in 2014 I created www.LowHeavyMetalsVerified.org

At that website, you'll see that arsenic under 0.62 ppm is rated A+++. Converting the units, that's the same as 620 ppb.

The California wine lawsuit claims it found up to 50 ppb of arsenic, then it calls that level "dangerous." Yet even if levels were ten times higher, they would still only be 500 ppb (0.500 ppm), which would still be lower than the safest rating described on LowHeavyMetalsVerified.org, which is A+++.

This rating system, by the way, is far more strict than the FDA. It was designed around many of the very strict limits set by the European Union, where food contamination is far more strictly monitored than in the USA.

If I tested these wines and saw 50 ppb of arsenic, there's no way at all that I would conclude those levels are dangerous in a product consumed in the same quantities as wine. Whoever reached that conclusion is flatly wrong. They have no idea what they're talking about. And this comes from a guy who has a history of sounding the (substantiated) alarm over toxic element contamination of other foods which really do pose a danger to human health.

You'll find far more arsenic in Sushi than wine

In fact, as you can see for yourself at the Natural News Forensic Food Lab, common seaweeds have far higher concentrations of arsenic.

For example, I found over 100,000 ppb of arsenic in Kombu Flakes. Yes, 100,000 ppb = 100 ppm.

I also found huge arsenic numbers in Kelp Flakes and Wakame Flakes. These numbers are orders of magnitude higher than the trace amounts detected in California wine.

To file a lawsuit over 50 ppb of arsenic in wine is, in my opinion, a shameless abuse of the legal system to threaten wine makers over an element that is nowhere near "dangerous" levels in their product. That so many mainstream media outlets fell for this science hoax and published these findings with no clue whether they are a legitimate source of concern is yet more proof that the mainstream media earn a solid "F" in food science reporting.

Most people don't know what's safe or dangerous when it comes to toxic heavy metals

Sadly, almost no one outside the circles of environmental science has any real grasp of what's safe vs. toxic when it comes to heavy metals in food, beverages or vaccines. Even my own understanding of this subject only coalesced after spending countless hours in the lab, testing literally thousands of food samples for heavy metals and observing the results.

The lack of common knowledge about the risks associated with various concentrations of toxic elements means that people can be easily misled in both directions: they can be told that TOXIC foods are perfectly safe, and they can also be told that safe foods are "dangerous."

I've seen both of these at work, and I've seen companies like Whole Foods operate in a total state of denial over the high concentrations of lead and cadmium in products they sell every day. Meanwhile, the media almost always focuses on the wrong stories, raising the alarm over 200 ppb of arsenic in rice, for example, while ignoring nearly 2,500 ppb of lead in "organic" rice protein.

As a result, both the mainstream media and the readers they cater to are left entirely in the dark about what's really a "high" level vs. a "low" level of certain elements in foods. Out of this confusion comes silly science hoax lawsuits like this one targeting California wine makers. Not only is this an extremely irresponsible exploitation of the media to spread a false scare story about an honest product industry; it also makes all the heavy metals labs look bad, including the ones like mine where we are conducting real, honest research in the public interest. (And no, we aren't selling lab testing services to companies, so we have nothing at all to gain from publishing our lab results other than informing our readers.)

In my informed opinion, every mainstream media outlet that ran with this arsenic scare story should retract their inaccurate reporting and apologize to the California wine industry.

If anybody from the mainstream media wants a REAL story on the toxic heavy metals in foods, contact me here at Natural News. I'm conducting real, original research on food contamination that no one else in the world is pursuing, and the findings are quite newsworthy.

Senate Committee Readies CISA Surveillance Bill

Corporations to provide real-time data on citizens to NSA
Senate Committee Readies CISA Surveillance Bill
by Kurt Nimmo | Infowars.com | March 12, 2015

The NSA is about to get even more information on citizens.
On Thursday the Senate Intelligence Committee held a vote on the latest version of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, or CISA. The legislation cleared the intelligence panel last year and then stalled after privacy and civil liberties groups called foul.
“Both CISA and Obama’s proposal have encountered resistance due to fears that the measures would give the government more access to personal data of Americans, which could be collected and analyzed by the NSA and other federal departments,” the National Journal.
The latest version, in fact, permits automatic NSA access in real-time to personal information shared with a governmental entity. It also allows access by intelligence agencies and the military.
“Since the summer of 2013, NSA surveillance activities, such as the telephony metadata bulk collection program and the PRISM program, have raised nationwide alarm. CISA ignores these objections, and requires real time dissemination to military and intelligence agencies, including the NSA,” states a letter sent to Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein, chairmans of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. “Congress should be working to limit the NSA’s overbroad authorities to conduct surveillance, rather than passing a bill that would increase the NSA’s access to personal information and private communications.” The letter was sent on March 2 and signed by members of civil society organizations and security experts and academics. The NSA considers the legislation crucial because it allows corporations to violate privy laws and transfer “cyber threat indicators” to the government. “It also ensures that companies that pass on information will be protected against court action — liability limits that disincentivize companies from adequately protecting user privacy,” states a FAQ produced Access, an organization dedicated to global digital freedom. William Binney, one of the NSA’s best mathematicians and code breakers before he resigned in 2011, believes the ultimate objective at the agency is to create a police state and control the population through massive surveillance. “This is a totalitarian process,” he said in 2013, and it “means we are now in a police state.” If ultimately enacted, CISA will merge corporations into the national security state and continue the construction of an overwhelming police and surveillance state not seen since the heydays of Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union.

It's a bird! It's a plane! Google balloon crash alarms town

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- It's a bird. It's a plane. Actually, it was a balloon.
But the crash of one of Google's "Loon" balloons for relaying Internet service was enough to have security forces summoned to a mountain township in central Mexico.
Reports first of a plane crash, then of a skydiver plummeting to earth sent soldiers, state police and civil defense workers swarming into the remote area Thursday. They found one of the huge, jellyfish-shaped balloons that Google is using to carry antennas to deliver online access in remote areas.
"Originally residents said an aircraft had fallen, and later, because of the balloon's shape, they said it was a parachute," said Manuel Escalera, spokesman for the civil defense agency in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.
The state government said in a statement that the balloon "caused surprise among inhabitants because of the sound it made when it fell." Escalera said no one was hurt because the equipment came down in an unpopulated area.
Veracruz authorities have notified Google to come pick up the remains of the balloon and the transmission equipment.

10 George Orwell Quotes That Predicted America Today

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever.”
10 George Orwell Quotes That Predicted America Today

George Orwell, author of 1984, had tremendous insight on how the global elite would dominate society, and he predicted the current political climate in America today as you’ll see from this list by Justin King of the Anti-Media:
George Orwell ranks among the most profound social critics of the modern era.
Some of his quotations, more than a half a century old, show the depth of understanding an enlightened mind can have about the future.
1) “In our age there is no such thing as ‘keeping out of politics.’ All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.”
Though many in the modern age have the will to bury their head in the sand when it comes to political matters, nobody can only concern themselves with the proverbial pebble in their shoe. If one is successful in avoiding politics, at some point the effects of the political decisions they abstained from participating in will reach their front door. More often than not, by that time the person has already lost whatever whisper of a voice the government has allowed them.
2) “All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.”
Examining the nightly news in the run up to almost any military intervention will find scores of talking heads crying for blood to flow in the streets of some city the name of which they just learned to pronounce. Once the bullets start flying, those that clamored for war will still be safely on set bringing you up-to-the-minute coverage of the carnage while their stock in Raytheon climbs.
3) “War against a foreign country only happens when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it.”
It’s pretty self-explanatory and while it may be hard to swallow, it’s certainly true. All it takes is a quick look at who benefited from the recent wars waged by the United States to see Orwell’s quip take life.
4) “The very concept of objective truth is fading out of the world. Lies will pass into history.”
My most prized books are a collection of history books from around the world. I have an Iraqi book that recounts the glory of Saddam Hussein’s victory over the United States in 1991. I have books from three different nations claiming that one of their citizens was the first to fly. As some of the most powerful nations in the world agree to let certain facts be “forgotten,” the trend will only get worse. History is written by the victor, and the victor will never be asked if he told the truth.
5) “In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Even without commentary, the reader is probably picturing Edward Snowden or Chelsea Manning. The revolutions of the future will not be fought with bullets and explosives, but with little bits of data traveling around the world destroying the false narratives with which governments shackle their citizens.
6) “Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations.”
Make no mistake about it; if an article does not anger someone, it is nothing more than a public relations piece. Most of what passes for news today is little more than an official sounding advertisement for a product, service, or belief.
7) “In real life it is always the anvil that breaks the hammer…”
In every conflict, it is not the side that can inflict the most damage, but the side that can sustain the most damage that ultimately prevails. History is full of situations in which a military “won the battles but lost the war.”
8) “The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.”
Haditha. Panjwai. Maywand District. Mahmudiyah. These names probably don’t ring a bell, but it is almost a certainty that the reader is aware of the brutality that occurred in Benghazi. The main difference is that in the first four incidents, those committing the acts of brutality were wearing an American flag on their shoulder.
9) “Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen.”
Everyday there is a new form of censorship or a new method of forcing people into self-censorship, and the people shrug it off because it only relates to a small minority. By the time the people realize their ability to express disapproval has been completely restricted, it may be too late. That brings us to Orwell’s most haunting quote.
10) “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever.”
Once the people are indoctrinated with nationalistic beliefs, and the infrastructure to protect them from some constantly-changing and ever-expanding definition of an enemy is in place, there is no ability for the people to regain liberty. By the time all of the pieces are in place, not only is opportunity to regain freedom lost, but the will to achieve freedom has also evaporated. The reader will truly love Big Brother

COVER-UP: US Navy sailors disappear as government, doctors bury truth about Fukushima radiation

by David Gutierrez, staff writer

(NaturalNews) U.S. Navy sailors exposed to radioactive fallout from the Fukushima nuclear disaster have been falling ill, even as the Defense Department insists that they were not exposed to dangerous levels of radiation. Many of the sailors have now joined in a class action lawsuit against Fukushima operators and builders Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), Toshiba, Hitachi, Ebasco and General Electric.

Even if they wanted to -- which many do not -- the sailors would be unable to sue the Navy. According to a Supreme Court ruling from the 1950s known as the Feres Doctrine, soldiers cannot sue the government for injuries resulting directly from their military service.

Mocked and attacked

On March 11, 2011, a massive earthquake and tsunami triggered multiple meltdowns at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan. It was the worst nuclear disaster in history, releasing twice as much radioactive material as the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

That same day, the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan was redirected to the coast of Japan to participate in relief work for tsunami survivors. When sailors from the ship later began to fall ill, Congress asked the Defense Department for a report on the issue. The Pentagon report concluded that the sailors had not been exposed to enough radiation or contaminated water to cause health effects.

Yet in the four years since the disaster, at least 500 sailors have fallen ill, and 247 of them have joined the class-action suit. The 100-page legal complaint chronicles their symptoms: an airplane mechanic suffering from unexplained muscle wasting; a woman whose baby was born ill; a sailor told his health problems must be genetic, even though his identical twin is perfectly healthy; and case after case of cancer, internal bleeding, abscesses, thyroid dysfunction and birth defects.

The defendants initially claimed that they could not be sued in a U.S. court, so plaintiffs' attorney Paul Garner asked the sailors to come to a court hearing in San Diego, to offer moral support.

Nearly all of them refused, for fear of public attack. Initial plaintiff Lindsey Cooper, for example, had already been mocked by atomic energy experts on CNN and by conservative radio hosts. Others were afraid of being perceived as anti-military, or un-American.

Powerful interests at stake

Only one plaintiff was willing to show up: Lieutenant Steve Simmons. Once a triathlon runner, Simmons fell ill a year after returning from Japan, suffering from hair loss, muscle wasting, migraines, bloody discharge and incontinence. His fingers turned yellow or even brown, and his feet have now turned dark red. He suffers from whole-body spasms and must now use a wheelchair.

He has never received a diagnosis for his problems, and sometimes he wonders if his Defense Department doctors are deliberately withholding one, so that the Department need not be held responsible. One doctor, he said, told him it would be better if he didn't know the cause of his illness.

Disturbingly, Spiegel Online reported:

Early on, [Simmons] was in a military hospital in Washington DC together with three other men who had similar symptoms, he says. They had served on nuclear-powered submarines, but they disappeared from one day to the next, and when he asked what happened to them, everyone acted as though they had never been there in the first place.

Simmons believes that the Navy meant to do good with the mission to Japan, and does not blame USS Ronald Reagan's commander, Captain Thom Burke, for what happened to him. But he is troubled by Burke's silence now, he says. He believes that Burke will not speak out about the case because he hopes to become an admiral.

"Personal, diplomatic and economic interests are all at stake," Simmons said. "They're leaving us alone. They're closing their eyes, keeping quiet and waiting for it to blow over. There are sick soldiers everywhere, many in the hospital in San Diego, or in the medical center in Hawaii. They are ordinary folks who are poorly insured, with family and kids. Loyal and scattered. Most of them don't know how to react. Those who raise their voices are denounced in the Internet for being unpatriotic. You have to put up with a lot."

China defence budget 10 pct rise to defy slowing economy

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's defence budget this year will rise about 10 percent compared with 2014, a top government official said on Wednesday, outpacing the slowing economy as the country ramps up investment in high-tech equipment such as submarines and stealth jets.
Parliament spokeswoman Fu Ying told reporters the actual figure would be released on Thursday, when the annual session of the largely rubber-stamp National People's Congress opens.
Last year, defence spending was budgeted to rise 12.2 percent to $130 billion, second only to the U.S. Pentagon's proposed $534 billion base budget.
The official Xinhua news agency said the 2015 target - which would put defence outlays at around $145 billion - would represent the slowest growth in military spending in five years.
China has logged a nearly unbroken two-decade run of double-digit budget increases, though many experts think the country's real defence outlays are larger than stated.
The military build-up has rattled nerves around the region, particularly as China has taken an increasingly robust line on its territorial disputes in the East and South China Seas.
Asked about China's defence spending, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Japan was concerned the figure "lacks transparency."
"It is true, regardless of China's defence spending, that the security situation in the region surrounding Japan is severe for various reasons," he added.
"On top of our own efforts in the field of diplomacy and defence, it is extremely important for our country to strengthen the U.S.-Japan alliance."
The U.S. Army's commander in Asia told Reuters China's rapidly increasing defense spending would only be a cause for alarm if Beijing used its resources to be provocative - as had happened in some parts of Asia.
General Vincent Brooks cited "bullying behaviors that happen in the sea and in the air," or "pressuring that's being done in bilateral dialogues with countries to be prepared to make a choice between the relationship with the U.S. and the relationship with China."
Other examples include "extraordinary maritime reclamation work" by China in the South China Sea, he said in an interview.
Brooks said China was investing in defense at a pace "that really no one can keep parallel with" and this showed the need for closer U.S. interaction with Beijing's military.

INDIA LAGGING
India is working to narrow the military gap with China, which has unnerved New Delhi with forays into the Indian Ocean.
An Indian defence official looking at regional security issues said the double-digit rise was no surprise.
"There was some talk it could slow down in view of the economic slowdown, but our sense was modernization will remain on track," the official said.
India has announced a $40 billion defence budget for 2015-16, representing a 7.9 percent rise over the allocation for 2014-15. Defence analysts said it may not be enough to acquire fighter planes, submarines and warships all at once.
In addition to the Obama administration's proposed $534 billion base budget, it also wants to spend $51 billion in war funds as it urged Congress to end cuts it says erode U.S. military power.
Fu said China faced greater challenges in modernising its military than "great powers".
"We have to rely on ourselves for most of our military equipment and research and development," Fu said.
"Fundamentally speaking, China's defence policy is defensive in nature. This is clearly defined in the constitution. We will not easily change this direction and principle."
Serving and retired military officers have said pervasive graft has undermined the armed forces' prowess and morale among the rank and file, a problem robust spending may help alleviate.
Former top military officers have been among the most powerful people ensnared as Chinese President Xi Jinping has pursued corrupt officials in all walks of life.
While Beijing keeps the details of its military spending secret, experts have said additional funding would likely go towards beefing up the navy with anti-submarine ships and developing aircraft carriers beyond a sole vessel in operation.

NAVAL SHOPPING LIST
"Carriers have definitely got to be on the list," said John Blaxland, Senior Fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University in Canberra.
"But also we've seen a massive surge in the number of submarines, and of course everybody loves submarines. The intimidatory effect of a submarine is hard to beat."
Money would also likely go into cyber capabilities and satellites, Blaxland added.
China's leaders have routinely sought to justify the country's military modernisation by linking defence spending to rapid GDP growth. But growth of 7.4 percent last year was the slowest in 24 years, and a further slowdown to around 7 percent is expected in 2015.
"We have achieved so much success with reform and opening up, we have not relied on gunboats to develop roads, but instead we have relied on complete and mutual beneficial cooperation," Fu said.
"We have been successful on this road, the road of peaceful development."
U.S. military and diplomatic "rebalancing" towards Asia and Xi's crackdown on corruption in the People's Liberation Army, are among the other factors keeping military spending high, experts have said.
Beijing also says it faces a threat from Islamist militants in the far western region of Xinjiang, and is drafting an anti-terror law that will create a legal framework for sending troops abroad on counter-terrorism missions.

Montel Williams: Alex Jones “Inspires People to Blow Things Up”

90's talk show host in bizarre Twitter outburst
Montel Williams: Alex Jones "Inspires People to Blow Things Up"
by Paul Joseph Watson | March 11, 2015

90′s talk show host turned payday loan pusher Montel Williams launched a bizzare Twitter outburst this week, charging that Austin-based radio personality Alex Jones “inspires people to blow things up”.
After Infowars reporters Joe Biggs and Mikael Thalen were included with Williams in a Twitter thread about a VA manager mocking veteran suicides, Williams became irate, remarking, “oh by all means let’s add the conspiracy theorists,” before accusing Alex Jones of, “lying about school shootings”.
Williams became increasingly angry before asserting, “I’m not interested in debating a fruit loop who inspires people to blow things up”.

Williams failed to provide any actual examples where Jones had inspired anyone to commit violence.
He went on to call Jones a “moron,” a “disgrace” and an “evil master con artist who should burn in hell”. Williams also suggested that Jones and Biggs were cocaine addicts.

In 2009, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the New York Times insinuated that cop killer Richard Poplawski was inspired by Alex Jones, despite the fact that Poplawski had openly criticized Jones’ anti-racist political viewpoint. Some outlets that regurgitated the accusation were subsequently forced to issue retractions.
In 2013, MSNBC also alleged that the Tsarnaev brothers were inspired to carry out the Boston bombings by the “deeply racist” Jones and his website, while providing no evidence whatsoever.
The Twitter meltdown happened just hours before it emerged that Williams had signed an agreement to stop endorsing MoneyMutual, the trading name of payday loan company Selling Source, which was found to have violated New York’s interest rate limit of 16 per cent by promoting loans at a typical rate of “somewhere between 261 percent and 1,304 percent.”
The company, for whom Williams has been the daytime face for years, was ordered to pay a $2.1 million penalty by state regulators.
When Williams was confronted on his promotion of “psychic” Sylvia Browne, who appeared on The Montel Williams Show numerous times between 1991 and 2008 despite being widely criticized as a charlatan, the host responded by saying that he “never purported to be a provider of news with my show”.
liams previously described Browne as “the most appearing guest on a talk show in the history of television”.
Williams was repeatedly invited to appear on the Alex Jones show for a debate but has steadfastly refused to do so.
